Lost Island was a segment featured during The Krofft Superstar Hour (1978-1979), along with another rarity (Horror Hotel) and two other Krofft offerings. The Bay City Rollers were hosts - they performed their songs and did comedy bits inbetween the "shows".
Most of the characters on LI were borrowed from other Krofft shows, or at least appeared to have been e.g. "Dr. Deathray" and his assistant "Otto". It's a good thing, too, because Krofft shows weren't surreal enough for kids as they were.
The KSH transformed after 8 weeks into "The Bay City Rollers Show", a 30 minute package that kept Horror Hotel but ended Lost Island's run, before all episodes had even aired.
