Carr addressed the congregation at the Greater Cleveland Avenue Christian Church in Winston-Salem, NC on Sunday, March 18, 2007, one week after the fatal incident. Carr seemed to focus most on how the accident has taken him from "prince to pauper in seconds" and he cried when he mentioned disappointing his family by his behavior. He did not mention the Bokhoven family by name, but asked the congregation to pray for "the family who has suffered the loss," especially since they were going to go through some anger. He then sermonized that the Bokhovens needed to get over their anger, because anger was destructive. This seemed like an oddly inappropriate thing for the one responsible for Casey's death to be saying to his family. Some of said that Tolly Carr may have not known he was being taped as he spoke, but as this appears to be a video shot by the church, it is hard to understand why a newsman like Tolly would not know. Casey Bokhoven, age 26, was struck by a pickup truck driven by WXII (Winston-Salem, NC) morning anchor Tolly Carr, Sunday, March 11 around 3:40 AM. He died at the scene, trapped under the vehicle. Charged with DWI, Carr admitted he had been drinking and warrants detail that he refused a Breathalizer test. Blood was taken from Carr, and the results of blood-alcohol tests have not yet been released to the public as of this date (March 25, 2007). Self pitty or remorse? You decide..
I wonder how supportive the people aplauding him would be if he killed one of their family members... I believe this was shot 7 days after he ended the life of a 26 year old man while he was ..
