This video shows that the new HotRod hat for Engineer is in fact sort of animated.
The mask goes down while holding the toolbox.
Sadly, it doesn't go down while swinging the wrench, that was just a common rumor/myth.

I want the Tough Guy's Toque, Officer's Ushanka, and Hound Dog. Really don't care much for the rest. It'd be nice to have a Stainless Pot but I'm not really going to try for one. Although I really do love my Hot Rod now that I found out it's animated. ..
