AMD's quad-core processor "Barcelona", expected to ship this summer, will outperform Intel's current Xeon 5300 "Clovertown by "over 40% ". That is, according to Randy Allen, Corporate Vice-President of AMD's Server and Workstation Business. During his interview with UberPulse's editor-in-chief, Jean-Baptiste Su, the AMD exec talked about improvements the chip maker made to the Opteron core to achieve the performance boost.
