Here's some sound samples of my JMI Vox AC50 dated either 65 or 66. This is only a best guess as Voxes are notoriously difficult to date.
It's played through a Marshall 1960A cab loaded with GT75s and attenuated down to -16dB using a Hotplate.
The amp has been fitted with a new, excellent quality replica output transformer from Majestic Transformer Co in the UK as the old one was shot.
After a general service and bias the amp sounds great.
The valve compliment is:
NOS Pinnacle ECC82 in V1
2 X NOS Pinnalce ECC83s in V2 and V3 respectivley
NOS Mullard ECC83 in V4 (the PI in this amp).
Power valves are 2 X SovTek EL34s.
The squeaking you can hear is my swively chair, must get out some WD40!!
Enjoy.Tags:VoxAC50MullardNOSLesPaulStratU2TomPettySeaHorsesPinnacleECC82ECC8312AU712AX7EL34demo
